Ο Ζευς τιμωρεί σκληρά τον Προμηθέα που έσωσε τους ανθρώπους από την καταστροφή. Ο Τιτάνας όμως κρατά το μυστικό που τον κάνει ισχυρότερο και από αυτόν τον πατέρα των θεών. Ο συμβολισμός του άκαμπτου απέναντι στην άδικη βία ελεύθερου φρονήματος, με πλαίσιο στοιχεία της παράδοσης και του ορφισμού.
